This community forum has been developed to serve the
medical community as it struggles through the momentous and exciting
transition to an electronic medical record (EMR). It is hoped that
it will serve those seeking solutions for existing systems and those needing
insight prior to purchase of a new system.
The fraternity of physicians has long
championed the importance of teaching: freely sharing our expertise for the
benefit of all. It is in this spirit that I have founded this forum.
It can serve as a place to meet and share our insights with one another.
This effort was officially launched
12/03/04. Members already registered included my company's EMR search
committee, my partners and numerous representatives from various EMR
vendors. I have begun several threads with my own review of EMR
presentations originally written for my EMR search committee. All
other forums wait for your input.
The potential in this effort is great.
Of course, at the end of the day, it will succeed or fail
based on the willingness of members to participate and share their expertise with this
forum community. I appreciate your suggestions and input.
